Radioactivity – nonstop automatized measurement

Download of real experimental data within desired period of time

Connection state:

When no user is connected, the server performs the one-minute measurements in all the positions automatically in a cycle. The real experimental data (date and time, position, real count and the background count) measured automatically in this way can be simply downloaded through the form below after you have set the desired period of time and perhaps the filter. You can save a huge amount of time spent on repeated simple measurements or waiting in a queue.

View of the real experimental setup (no possibility to control it or change the settings here!).

Procedure

Set any valid date since January 1st 2013 to the present, the both dates can be the same in order to download data measured in this one day.
For larger statistical sets of data choose more-day period of time, but we do not recommend to download data from the period longer than 5 days, otherwise the data transfer to your PC might fail. You can use the filter to reduce the amount of data.

After you have decided the size of the statistical set of data and you have set the dates, press the Display data in a new pop-up window button. If pop-up windows are blocked by your web browser, please change its security settings (you may use the menu buttons in the warning message window) and press the Display... button again!

Click to the new pop-up window with data to set it active and press Ctrl+A, and Ctrl+C, open a spreadsheet software document (MS-Excel, OO-Calc, etc.), select the left-upper cell and insert the values by pressing Ctrl+V. The values should be inserted correctly with the legend and they can be processed in common way with the use of statistical and the other functions. As the first step after inserting values you can use the Sort function with respect to the Position specification.

In order to study the dependence of radiance on the barrier thickness consider values Air 0 and then Cu 0,5 mm ... Cu 2,5 mm, which means six experimental points of the dependence.

In order to study the dependence of radiance on the distance from the radioactive source consider values Air 0 ... Air 8, which means nine experimental points of the dependence, while the distances correspond to 5 cm ... 21 cm from the source (with 2-cm shifts).

The last column contains the measured counts of the natural background radiation. The counts ought to be diminished by the average background radiation level!
